  • 18 years old — intrastate CDL (within New Mexico only)
  • 21 years old — interstate CDL (cross state lines)

Since February 7, 2022, all first-time CDL applicants must complete ELDT (Entry-Level Driver Training) from an FMCSA-registered training provider before taking their CDL skills test.
